Research Projects (3/4):

NeuroPAL in Other Organisms

NeuroPAL (Yemini et al, Cell 2021), is a method to identify cell-types, in vivo, using color barcodes. Our goal is to develop NeuroPAL in other model organisms, including flies, fish, and mice.

We will focus on providing cell-type identities in small brain regions to investigate neural communication, cell differentiation, and dynamic changes in gene expression. Our aim is to explore these regional circuits and use our findings to trace the evolution of cell-type identities and their function across organisms.

If you are a colleague working with a model organism you believe might benefit from such a tool, contact us!
